Several users have requested a library for documents of general interest to IFHE members. The library is hereby established, and our first achievement is publishing papers selected from presentations to the 2008 IFHE Congress of Barcelona.
In this particular case some are written in Spanish and some in English.
Each article will begin with an abstract in English, followed by the full paper in original version, preferable in English but not excluding other languages.
They should constitute a seed for more articles and collaborations from around the world, from Journals or from Congresses of A Members.

Generation of medical air with compressors under GMP.doc
ABSTRACT
In the base are the Good Manufacturing Practices , GMP requirements
Central Medical Gas Supply system is a medical product producer. A part of it is the compressed air generation of “air for medical use” with compressors (Medical compressed air)
The “air for medical use” is a medical drug und has to be produced according to the remedy law (Heilmittelgesetz, HMG; SR 812.21) in meaning of drug production according to the GMP-guide.
GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice which means good producing methods. In this case, GMP-standards describe the technical basis for certifications scheme of the WHO (World Health Organisation) about the quality of medical drugs in international trade.
The aim is to fulfil the requirements of the GMP-guide for the producer of pharmaceutical products, meaning that the product has to be produced, checked and released correctly under hygienic restrictions without pollution and in a constantly high quality.
There is an uncertainty in many hospitals, about the conversion as well as the responsibilities of GMP-requirements. The topic of this presentation is to clarify for hospital engineers their possibilities of correct actions and which solutions can be realised at this point.

Optimización de instalaciones con la nanotecnologia.doc
ABSTRACT
Optimization of technical installations with new technologies ( nano-technology)
Given the clear need to optimize the technical facilities of a hospital, it raises the challenge of defining systems that prior to complicate or increase the technical installations, improves the existing ones.
Faced with the search for technical solutions in this regard is the introduction of nano-technological devices where we find the greatest advantages.
Without going into detail on the nature of the nano-technology, history or evolution, we point out the improvements achieved, both in terms of increased life cycle, performance improvement, and energy savings in the systems where we have implemented these devices .
All these advantages sought after by technicians in their facilities, have a major sticking point, the economic cost.
This study reveals the economic advantages for investment, giving clear and precise tools to justify its introduction.
The Hospital has developed the implantation of the devices at two facilities :the vacuum line of the Hospital, and the installation of fuel for power boilers.
The priorities in these facilities are different, the vacuum is looking for an increase in capacity of the vacuum installation, and the application to the installation of fuel for boilers are looking for economic savings in fuel.
This paper presents the study and the results obtained in both installations, being a springboard for implantation into other facilities

ABSTRACT
UPS systems are critical components in the electrical infrastructure of the Hospital yet they are often neglected. Almost every medical device requires a continuous electrical supply and some equipment cannot function in the event of even 15 ms break in power. Sometime the running of a facility is threatened if there is a blackout time of about two hours. Examined in this article are the UPS design concepts and recent technological breakthroughs, plus benefits derived from these.
